Nestled just 30 kilometers east of Honiara, in Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, lies one of the most ambitious projects that Pacific builders are proud to be involved in. We are excited to introduce the Mother Teresa Family and Youth Centre, a state-of-the-art facility built for the Catholic Church. This monumental project is set to become a cornerstone for community engagement and youth activities in the region.
A Vision for the Future
The Mother Teresa Family and Youth Centre is more than just a building; it’s a vision brought to life. Designed to meet the diverse needs of the community, the centre boasts a hall measuring 75m by 50m, perfectly suited for a range of youth indoor sports including futsal, basketball, and netball. This multipurpose space ensures that the youth have a safe and modern environment to engage in sports and recreational activities.
Comprehensive Facilities
Beyond its impressive hall, the centre is equipped with a variety of facilities designed to cater to different events and functions. These include:
- Two conference areas for meetings and seminars
- A cafeteria and kitchen providing food services
- A shop for convenience
- Toilets and shower facilities ensuring hygiene and comfort
- A visual control room and stage preparation rooms for events and performances
- Offices for administrative purposes
- An external porch offering a space for outdoor viewing and relaxation
Sustainable and Advanced Infrastructure
Sustainability and technological advancement are at the core of this project. The centre features 40,000-liter storage tanks and a water filtration system, ensuring a reliable and clean water supply. The solar/hybrid support system, complemented by a 75Kva genset, underscores our commitment to renewable energy and environmental responsibility. Moreover, the advanced ventilation and acoustic systems provide a comfortable and functional environment for all users.
A Community Effort
This monumental project is powered by a dedicated workforce of around 50 workers, whose hard work and expertise are bringing this vision to life. Their commitment and passion are evident in every aspect of the centre, from its foundational infrastructure to its finishing touches.
A Hub for Sports and Recreation
In addition to its indoor facilities, the centre includes an international standard-size soccer field. This outdoor field not only caters to soccer enthusiasts but also promotes physical activity and healthy living within the community.
